Foiling Around: Theatrical Sword Fighting (SUNDAYS in November)
Description:
This interactive workshop takes place over 4 weekends and will introduce students to the fundamentals of theatrical sword fighting. Experience footwork, stances, cuts, thrusts, parries, and avoidances in a safe and playful manner.

Facilitator Bio:
Randi McKenzie, Emerita Assistant Dean for Student Affairs at San Diego State University, has been a teacher, coach and student of fencing over the course of 5 decades. Ranked as high as second in the nation in women’s Sabre fencing, she has competed in all three weapons and has trained with the Society of American Fight Directors and Humble Warriors. For four seasons, she was the first sword fighting instructor in the Old Globe/USD MFA program. Currently she volunteers at SDSU teaching an array of aspiring students.
